I installed Station module for D6
It is really like I can't yet make out what it is supposed to do.
1. I have installed the module and configured it
2. I have created schedules, programs and play list
3. Naturally I expected audio output from the website since the programs are on
4. But...... nothing ! (aaaaarrrgh !!..can you believe this ?!!)
Apparently the function of this module is just to create a schedule, and program for site visitors to see , right ? .But what is the point of the playlist when it doesn't play ? Hmmmn.
Can some please tell me step by step how to create an Internet radio that works... I mean like you can upload stuff (audio files and links) into your online server and they play on schedule ?
Really love to know. Thanks

This is a long awaited
This is a long awaited question... It could be great if someone explains the process so that persons like me who knew the basics of php can also use radio...
It does not create a radio station..
The station module does not create a radio station. It adds radio station functionality to your radio stations website. A quote from the station module's page:
"Station is a group of modules to run a radio station's website."
You can use the now playing block to display the info from your schedule. You can archive recordings of your programs, which I believe it can make for you. It can retrieve your playlist info from a shoutcast server and add it to the database of music and playlists for shows.
It however does not create a radio station. You either need to have a AM or FM or use icecast or shoutcast to stream your broadcast.
Take a look at...
Take a look at the project page. I think it explains it well what the module does.

That is now completely
That is now completely understood frederickj. But you will also agree that having "playlist" does give false hopes of what to expect.
Now for the second part of the question : Can some please tell me step by step how to create an Internet radio that works... I mean like you can upload stuff (audio files and links) into your online server and they play on schedule ?

Sorry about your false hopes but...
Sorry about your false hopes but that is the way it is. The playlist is an archive of what played on your radio station. Not sure why you think that a web server should be used as a radio station. Probably can be done however there are better tools for the job. As one of my work pals use to say "Why go get a hammer when you can hit it with a big wrench that is right here!"
You want the station module to broadcast, then submit a patch and stop whining.
You want an internet radio station go look at icecast and shoutcast. There are others too.
Oh wow ! No need to be rude
Oh wow ! No need to be rude about this mate . I only made an observation and certainly was not "whining" . If you don't know the answer to my question all you need to do is walk on by and not give me vague and rude direction .I don't desperately want an internet radio ,just looking at how it can be done in Drupal. To reiterate :
"Can some please tell me step by step how to create an Internet radio that works... I mean like you can upload stuff (audio files and links) into your online server and they play on schedule ?"
Please if you don't know the answer stand aside and do let someone who does tell US. Thanks.

Hmmn .. quite interesting
Hmmn .. quite interesting issue. I am sure by "radio" you mean live broadcast which should work with a shoutcast/icecast install. I am not sure where the advantage is in using the shoutcast module to display your shoutcast data on a Drupal site . If you want Shoutcast go get shoutcast and stick with it is my opinion. I have a couple of shoutcast projects running.
However it should be fairly easy to implement a scheduled "jukebox" on a Drupal site, using uploaded audio. I did this even on a static site about 5 years ago by embedding playlist .pl file in the index page. Really cool question electronicmonkey !
So there is now help for create a web radio station
So there is no way to build a Web radio station.
Nor is there any instructions on how to install Shoutcast, StreamRipper executable.
So with the Station I can not have a live radio or any station.
