Semantic web at Drupalcon?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.
catch's picture

It's the last week of submissions for Drupalcon session proposals, and so far there's nothing in for semantic web. I've spoken to a couple of people who were interested, but opening it up here for something to be planned. It'd be nice to showcase some of both the RDF modules in D6 contrib and anything else available now, and also longer term plans, core support etc.

would be great

It would be really great to have such a presentation, we should keep up the momentum. Unfortunately I won't have time to prepare for this...

Catch would you have time for this?

Alexandria project

catch's picture

It looks like it's at least partially covered in: http://szeged2008.drupalcon.org/program/sessions/the-alexandria-project-... - which will include RDF/SPARQL etc. I don't think it'd hurt to have a panel session in addition to this one though (or for that matter, making it more obvious what that session's about).

BoF

I would also be very keen for something to happen. I originally wanted to propose a BoF session but might be open to a presentation.

I have been doing quite a bit with Semantic Web tech over the past 2 years. Currently I am working with a group to kick start a global climate change semantic network.

I have also been doing a lot with RDFa and SearchMonkey and would be happy to talk about that. I would not want to do a presentation on my own but could do a co-presentation if someone else was keen.

Cheers,

David

panel discussion

So what about doing a panel discussion along the lines of "Semantic Drupal, where are we now, where are we heading?

A panel would be good. Who

A panel would be good. Who would moderate?

moderator

I sent a ping to Stephane Corlosquet, he knows his semantic web also outside of the Drupal box, not sure though if he will be attending...

Stay tuned.

Update?

davidseth's picture

Any update? The deadline is drawing near... If no reply perhaps at least proposing a BoF?

session would be better

kvantomme's picture

Can somebody cross check the attendee list with the sematic web group? I'm a bit in a pinch right now, would be great if somebody else could do this.

If there are enough "Semantic" cannons in the participants to form a panel and nobody else wants to moderate this, I can be moderator.

scor's picture

just back from vacation hence the lack of reactivity...
see the session:
