We had a DrupalCon recap session on campus today, and one of the topics we discussed was getting regular meetups going. Once per month on a Friday afternoon at 3pm sounded like a consensus preference, and we'd like to include the other Central Illinois Drupal users. The campus Webmasters have a meetup on the fourth Friday at 3pm every month. Since I'd like to offer to facilitate the first one, I'd like to suggest the 2nd or 3rd Friday of April. We'll find a location on campus to have it.
My topic for the first session that I'd like to suggest is setting up a Drupal sandbox environment on your personal computer. This would be installing XAMPP or Acquia's Dev Desktop, downloading some modules, and having fun. To fill the rest of the time, discussing commonly used modules or introducing Git could be interesting.
Thoughts? Preferences for 2nd or 3rd Friday?
