Are their any meetings or do we just meet here, on line? For my first install what version would you recommend? I read that Ver 6 is not that well received yet. or should i start with Version 5?

We are in the process of setting up the meetings, so no, there are none yet. Look for something after Kris gets back from Szeged.

Regarding the 5/6 question. The answer depends on where you want to go with the product in terms of features. 6 Is a GREAT new release of the product. For production sites, we are beginning to use it, but most of our stuff is still in 5. The reason for 5 is the infrastructure (read modules) that we are using.

If you are starting from scratch, or building a basic site... Definately, go 6.
Since you are 'new' to the environment... You have no 'baggage' with version 5 modules..... So again I say... go 6

Hope that helps.

There are lots of reasons to go with Drupal 6 at this point. Unless you have a significant need for ecommerce of some sort, then go 6. It's a good platform to learn on, and by the time you're up to speed with the product 6 will be in full swing. If you're new to Drupal you need to definitely check out CCK and Views before you spend too much time without them. Also pathauto is a great module and well worth having. Those 3 modules should get you well on the way.

We're talking with Francis Tuttle trying to work out an arrangement for a users group in their facility. We'll see how that pans out. Good to have a new Drupaler in town.
