Hi Everyone,
The research centre I work for currently has a static content website that needs updating. We are thinking of using Drupal as a CMS going forward and would like to get a feel of how much it might cost to:
1. Develop a Drupal theme based on the current web design.
2. Drupal site setup including site configuration, content types and modules etc.
2. Migration strategy for moving existing content over to the new platform.
3. LDAP integration.
We are at an early stage of planning and would like a ballpark of costs to help decide if we should engage a company/freelancer or do this in-house. Any response is greatly appreciated. Please contact me at adrian.png(--at--)hli.ubc.ca.
Thanks.
Best regards,
Adrian

Hi Adrian,
Could you post a link to your existing website?
Thanks!

First: I'm willing to bet this is Adrian's dept website:

Second: I'm curious as to the intended implementation. Is Drupal expected to be used as an external facing site and an intranet? What would be the purpose of LDAP integration, except for linking to existing internal network accounts. Then this begs the question, will everyone in the HLI dept be able to edit content in Drupal, possibly for use in storing research notes, etc.
Depending on the scope of this project, a hack job could go for $500 (or a case of beer) all the way through an enterprise implementation of about $20K.
Thanks everyone for your
Thanks everyone for your response.
Greg, Tony guessed it right.
Catherine and Todd, I wasn't aware of the Drupal talents in UBC, but now I know. They contacted me. :)

Drupal Support
Hi Julia, did you need someone in Vancouver to meet with in person? My business partners both live in Canada, our brilliant lead programmer / support guru Matt just moved from Vancouver to Kelowna. If you don't need to meet in-person often he is great at Drupal. My other partner Dan is a talented System Admin and custom Flex creator.
Let me know if you want to talk,
Best,
Rob Wickens

Hi to you both and thank you for the reply.
Do you have an email where I can reach you to discuss this further?
