One of the guys who's helping me regarding getting sponsorship or a venue for our Dublin event is also involved in the Software Freedom Day. It's being held on the 20th September in the Digital Hub in Dublin. It's free to attend and is being organised by the Irish Ubuntu group (http://www.ubuntu-ie.org/). Interestingly they use Drupal for their site :)
Anyway, they're very interested in Drupal and would like some of us to go and participate. We can have a stand, show off cool Drupal sites, or promote Drupal in some way. Unfortunately I'm out of the country that weekend and so can't partake, but I think it would be a great event to go to and help drum up some interest in Drupal in Ireland. It might also be a good way to advertise our forthcoming Drupal weekend meet-up :)
