Recently, Google has launched the browser named "Chrome".
There is much said about the browser but I want to know what people in India think about it.
There is a major drawback of the Chrome is that any content uploaded through the browser to any site will entitle Google to use the content as they want without your permission.

What's your opinion?

Mobile/Pocket Web Browsing

stevebayerin's picture

Chrome seems to be aimed at the mobile phone market (to extends Google's Android SDK for mobile phones) and thin client internet devices for web browsing. Its main competitors would be Safari (on the iphone,) Opera for thin clients (Nintendo Wii uses Opera) and similar web browsers used in pocket pcs and mobile phones.

Its unlikely to ever be a dominant desktop browser due to the lack of plug in support. If plug in support were to be available, there would be a Google Toolbar for Chrome (Google Gears is packed in but not Google Toolbar) to beta test if the Chrome could handle general productivity plug ins such as Google Toolbar.

Download for windows:

Its great for previewing what a website looks like in Safari (loads much faster than Safari for windows.) The lack of toolbar support doesn't make it much of a candidate for daily use.
