Hi, i must say that i'm new to drupal...
I have a project to make and i'm not quit shure where to start:D
It's about a drupal site for educators to promote the use of IT ,one of the things to make is to deffine a Learning Objects with methadata in Repository, and then deffine an ontology to classificate those objects...on the client side i should make a search possibility to this objects...
So first i was thinking to use Fedora repository or DOR, but is it possible to do it only with RDFx, SPARQL and maybe some other module?
I hope i'm not making a stupid question, and waist your time.
Thanks a lot and sorry for my English.

Thanks a lot arademaker ,
Islandora is working on Fedora integration with Drupal 7 and there are in alpha stage..is it a good idea to get back on Drupal 6 or to see if there are another alternatives?

That's funny, I hadn't heard of this before. It would be really great to get this project on Drupal.org so that it could be well integrated with the community effort.

I have tried to get the

I have tried to get the Islandora code migrated to Drupal.org, but haven't been able to get them to make the move. http://drupal.org/project/fedora

There a ton of library and other initiatives using it.

Hi Anisorf, Regarding your

Hi Anisorf,

Regarding your original Question.

Yes, in my opinion, it is possible to build such a system on D7 using RDFx and SPARQL. I was working on a similar project a couple of months ago, but the project got a bit delayed since at that time, SPARQL module was not available for D7. Now that the D7 port for the module is available, you can easily build the complete system with the search and backend storage.

Also, I had written the RDF Schema for the RDF vocabulary that I used for semantically marking the Learning Objects Metadata, so in case you are need it for reference, or are having problems in registering your vocabulary with Drupal, I can mail you a copy.

Also, there are a couple of good research papers written specifically on LOM, in case you are interested, but they are not freely available.
