UPTV wasn't approved in the first round of grants, but they are still in the running for an Open Media Project grant.
What is the Open Media Project?
In a nutshell, we are updating the Drupal codebase that already drives Denver's 3 public access channels to make it easier for other locations to turn their stations into what is easiest to describe as a giant, community run Tivo. At Denver Open Media, users submit video, the community rates those videos, the top rated videos get aired.
I am going to be in Peoria the weekend of Oct 9-12 and Urbana Saturday, Oct 10. If there are Central Illinois Druplers who'd like to get together while I'm in Peoria or Urbana, let me know.
