User group meeting
We have discussed meeting the first Wednesday of every month, so to stay true to that I have set the meeting for Wednesday July 6th 7:00pm @ TBA.
If there are any serious objections we can change time and date accordingly, so far this seems to work for everyone.
Let's open a discussion around what we would like to cover in the meeting.
Personally I would like to discuss:
Out a mission objective for our group as a whole and how we want to impact our local community as well as the Drupal community.

I generally work evenings Tuesday through Thursday. And I have another engagement on the only Wednesday I'm regularly off. Also, I believe someone else mentioned that the time was too late for him during the week. Better times for me would be afternoon/evenings on the weekend or any time on most Mondays.
Glad to see someone is thinking of a mission, already. A vision statement would be prudent, as well.
Let's meet in the middle
We need to get some feedback from others so that we can set a more reasonable date and time for everyone. Currently I am free any day other than Tuesday in the late afternoon or evening, and I have no problem with your proposed times.
I would need some time to think about a mission or vision statement, maybe I can have something to offer before the next meeting.
Suggested times...
How about a day between the 25th and 5th of every month leaving a ten day window of possible days? This could offer a base?
How about a drupal poll? One vote per individual...voting for a day? Possibly a standard meeting time from 8pm - 10pm or later...?

Let's recruit or get some folks on here to see who would even be available for a meeting in the first week of July and then work from there. Where aer all of our other folks that have attended the past meetings?

Glad you're assuming the lead in all this because I don't have time and I suspect the same might apply to some of the other guys, although I don't know that for certain and I certainly can't speak for them. But my teammates and I all have a ton of interest but our current workload is sucking up all of our time. You might not have time either but at least you're single, right? Haha!
I think stuff like mission statement, etc isn't as important as something with meat as topics of discussion that relate to what we do every day. A great topic might generate some super attendance and inspire more participation. Issues I deal with include:
1. Which e-commerce engine to recommend - Drupal or Magento? Why?
2. Drupal, Joomla or Wordpress - how to decide what's best for my client.
3. New modules that have come available
4. How will I know when to transition to 7 from 6.
That sort of thing. These topics would have some broad interest but we can have an occasional geek speak night where the hard core developers gather. In their cerebral majesty:)

I'm a Senior Art Director and Drupal Designer in Louisville, 9-5 M-F. I would definitely be interested in the 6 to 7 transition, as I spent many hours in 7, and other than some unported/dev modules and some talk about performance, I was pumped. Also wouldn't mind a quick discussion on html5, if your using it with your Drupal projects. E-commerce is another great one.

I am new to the group, just joined, and I would love to attend the meeting. I am very excited to find out that is momentum with Drupal in Louisville. I have been engulfed in Drupal development for the past three years and a huge advocate of its uses. I noticed that others can not make it to the scheduled date - I am in the same boat. Is the date still tentative or fixed?

There is no fixed ate as of yet, we all need to come to an agreement on a date that works best.

I say let's stick with the
I say let's stick with the date again and work out a different date for August. I know it's disappointing for the folks that have work / school, but it sounds like we'll pick up at least 2 new guys this Wednesday.
We can meet up at my place again around 7 - 7:30 and head out from here if we need to. I still have beer / snacks left over from last time. Still not sure we need a fixed topic (not enough folks coming yet), but I'm happy to show off drush or something this week if anyone's interested. I'll also be releasing a Commerce release candidate this weekend (unless things go unexpectedly wrong), so I can show that off.
Oh well.
My wife's birthday get together/dinner is that night. Not getting out of that one. See you guys next month.

Just a reminder - meetup is tomorrow at my place around 7:30 PM. My wife's having some people over for a meeting at 7, so that might bleed into our time. Not a huge deal, as we can hang out on the porch / upstairs until they're done or roll out to a quieter place from there if we need to. Based on last time, I don't think timing will be an issue.
