Hi all,
I'm using drupal-6.20 i think all stuff is good but suddenly show the message when i login to my site:
warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in C:\AppServ\www\drupal-6.20\includes\mail.inc on line 193.
Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site administrator if the problem persists.
I wrote the correct the username and password and verified SMTP to be like :
[mail function]
;For Win32 only.
;SMTP = http://localhost.com
smtp_port = 25
;For Win32 only.
;sendmail_from = abdo@localhost.com
but i can't login because this message,I'm using AppServ2.5.10

localhost.com?
I am certainly no expert, but I suspect the problem is the .com at the end of localhost. Did AppServ add that in or did you, on the initial configuration? (for example, "localhost.com" instead of just "localhost")
I would try changing the SMTP = to simply localhost, and the sendmail_from to whatever your actual email address is.

you haven't an email server
you haven't an email server to make it work correctly
See this example: http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/howto-php-send-email-via-smtp-authenticati...
You might try XAMPP
Appserv does not appear to include a mail server, and, afaik, Windows doesn't either. You might want to try XAMPP, which is much more widely used than Appserv and does include Mercury Mail Transport System .
