Is there anyone in Peoria (or in the area) that wants to learn Drupal? I don't mean the 1 day Drupal Camp kind of learning - I mean 1 night a week class-style learning.
Starting Saturday January 31st at 2:00pm, I plan to lead an un-official Drupal class on the campus of Bradley University in Peoria. We will begin by covering the book Using Drupal and eventually start going through Pro Drupal Development 2nd Edition. These books are not required to take the class, but highly recommended.
Interested? Please email me so that I can have a list of emails for announcements! If I don't get any responses I'll not waste my time.
Here's a map for your convenience: Google Map of Bradley's GCC and surrounding points of interest

If I do indeed come to
If I do indeed come to Central IL for Thanksgiving, I'll gladly lead a ninja-esque class, perhaps on SVN integration or advanced theming.
Good to see Drupal still going strong in and around BU!
Peoria DUG spin-off?
Hello!!!
A group of us, including unrealnighthawk, got together a few days ago to discuss putting together a Peoria-centric Drupal Users Group. There seems to be a lot of interest in Drupal in Peoria, but there is currently no good way for us to network. Is anyone else in this group from P-town? It seems most are from Champaign/Bloomington areas. We're not looking to compete with Central Illinois DUG, just trying to figure out the best way to marshal resources here in town. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!
Peoria is closer to me
I am from Galesburg and have been wanting to get to some meetups. Time and money always seem to get in the way. Peoria would definitely be a lot easier.

Are you still setting this up?
If I can get a company car (good possibility) I'd like to travel up from Springfield for some of the classes. I'm a Drupal beginner, but I have a good bit of experience with php, etc.
Definitely. We'll be
Definitely. We'll be starting a week from today (October 22nd) at 8PM in the GCC at Bradley University.

Google Maps
I added a new entry for the GCC. If you type in 'gcc bradley' at google maps, it should be the only result.
Here's a link: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&ie=UTF8&t=h&msa=0&msid...
I don't know yet what room they will give us, but I'll post instructions when I get information.
If anyone needs to contact me directly, feel free to email me: david (at) davidneedham.net. If you would like my phone number, please contact me directly.

Updated Map
Apparently Google removed my map, so I made a personal one that you guys can view. I also listed a few places that you could park and a few places for food, drinks, and gas (for those not actually from Peoria).

Room Number
We are green lighted to use room 216 in the GCC Wednesday nights. Now that that's out of the way I think we're ready to go.
For more and regular information about the workshop, check my website www.davidneedham.net/drupal. That's where I'll be discussing this week's content and future weeks as well. Please leave me suggestions for topics or anything else there (but I'll keep checking this page too). That's also where the video podcasts / screencasts will be hosted until I can get them posted to iTunes.

Workshops Canceled Until Jan 22nd
This first try at a weekly Drupal workshop didn't exactly turn out how I planned, but I'm confident that when we start back on Thursday January 22nd at 8pm, things will be better.
The biggest problem I'd like to address is the lack of an easy way for me to communicate with everyone at once and get feedback. To remedy this, I have created a group here at Drupal Groups. If you have any interest in attending a meeting in the future, please go to http://groups.drupal.org/bradley-drupal-training-workshop and join up.
