Just wanted to say hello to the fellow Vancouverites. I'm a local freelance developer doing mostly custom systems in python ( Turbogears, Django, misc WSGI stuff ) and also Drupal development.
The only thing I've done in Drupal likely to be of any interest was a nice glue job merging a turbogears site with a drupal site, which you can see here:
http://www.momcafe.net ( turbogears site )
http://www.momcafe.net/resources ( drupal site glued to it )
The interesting part is that the header ( including all menus and login ) always comes from the TG site by making a proxied request on localhost to fetch that component, and that the drupal site uses TG's authentication and authorization. I made a custom module that has drupal share user table data and automatically login/logout the right user depending on the response from the TG site. So far it's worked quite well, though I'm sure the way I did it internally could be cleaned up a bit.
So yeah, that's me! Anyone wanting to make python-drupal frankensites, I'm happy to advise. And anyone looking for freelance drupal subcontractors, I'm available on a gun for hire basis. Other areas of expertise include CSS, javascript, and desktop database apps in wxPython/SQLAlchemy.
Nice to "meet" everyone.
Iain
