<CGMonroe> 'lo all
<shibby> hi CGMonroe !
<shibby> anyone seen afreeman? heard he was having fun in Raleigh today with the kids over at DesignBox
<shibby> well hey CGMonroe let's get started, this might be short and sweet
<CGMonroe> k
<shibby> we have two people who said they can present
<shibby> I have Andrea - presentation on theming (general how to build a theme, using base themes, etc.)
<shibby> and then afreeman reached out to Matt Kennedy
<shibby> who said he could do "general overview of Views for 15-20 minutes, and then, 10-15 of Q&A."
<CGMonroe> sounds reasonable
<CGMonroe> we're @redhat this month?
<shibby> CGMonroe: yes! I've confirmed the space and reached out to Hesketh
<shibby> it was a mix of, I was being in making plans for July (OMG it's almost July)
<shibby> and these two topics might draw a larger crowd
<CGMonroe> Sounds good
<shibby> should we try to do both topics in July
<shibby> or do you want to do one in August?
<CGMonroe> I think we can cover both in one meeting
<shibby> I went to a view and panels at DrupalCamp SC and thought it was great, we walked through a live demo (super helpful)
<shibby> 45 minutes for views and 30 minutes for intro to themes?
<shibby> then 15 minute for general things that we normally do
<CGMonroe> Yeah... but themes might take 45 too
<CGMonroe> but it's hard to say
<SteveCory> How's Matt Kennedy involved? What' she do?
<shibby> you know what, I keep thinking we only have 90 minutes
<shibby> we have 2 hours
<shibby> yes, that will work
<SteveCory> Is Andrea presenting in terms of D6 or D7?
<shibby> SteveCory: Matt Kennedy is the owner and lead developer from Four Clouds
<CGMonroe> I think D6
<shibby> didn't say whether it was d6 or d7, the note mentioned d6, but i might be referring to something else
<shibby> http://groups.drupal.org/node/156119
<Druplicon> http://groups.drupal.org/node/156119 => July meetup => 2 comments, 1 IRC mention
<shibby> thx Druplicon
<CGMonroe> Not sure there's a lot of change at the non-api between D6 and D7
<CGMonroe> but I could be wrong
* SteveCory kicks Druplicon
<shibby> CGMonroe: did you do anything different at the June meet-up that worked well?
<CGMonroe> Beer and Drinks (@DrupelICON)
<SteveCory> LOL!
<CGMonroe> No, followed the new format of starting with jobs/announcements
<shibby> very cool, i'll make sure we keep doing that, then get right into the preso's
<CGMonroe> Allan's presentation ran short so we did a little around the table problem solving.
<shibby> well I think that's it then unless you can think of anything else
<CGMonroe> No, sound like a good meeting
<shibby> I'll finalize the agenda with the presenters and update the meet-up / gdo page with the final agenda
<CGMonroe> K
<shibby> and thanks for meeting on somewhat short notice
<CGMonroe> LOL not like I had to go far for the IRC meeting
<mrconnerton> We started a new format the last few asheville meetups of asking people ahead of time that are coming what they are having issues of and pairing them up with people to help them versus a preso so everyone that has a need can get direct help
<shibby> CGMonroe: nope, but your time is valuable ;)
<CGMonroe> @mrconnerton Yeah, we've done that a few meetings
<SteveCory> Do y'all think there would be any interest in covering "drush"?
<mrconnerton> at least in AVL its hard for us to find a preso that can apply to everyone
<shibby> SteveCory: drush may be a good topic for August
<shibby> I saw some cool stuff with Drush at DrupalCamp SC
<SteveCory> In light od the 6.22 coming out, it's been a very useful utility
<CGMonroe> Allan (and I) are both Drush-aholics...lol
* SteveCory pats KyleSk on the back for helpin'
--> Paulthed (~Admin@cpe-066-057-122-190.nc.res.rr.com) has joined #drupal-nc
<mrconnerton> It's hard to imagine life without drush at this point
<shibby> hi Paulthed
<CGMonroe> @mrconnerton - FWIW - rather than small group breakouts = we often have a global "Ask everyone" go-rounds
<Paulthed> hello everyone, sorry I'm late. Had a conference call run late
<shibby> we are just wrapping up. I'll post the full log soon
<shibby> basically we have views and theming for july
<Paulthed> ok thanks Jason
--> afreeman (~afreeman@user-0c8hapf.cable.mindspring.com) has joined #drupal-nc
* CGMonroe Not to self - get date for Aug...
<mrconnerton> CGMonroe, it was something new we just tried the past 2-3 meetups. We thought to ask in advance so people could come prepared to help them. Althought I think next time we will have a few 5-10 minute lighting talks on what the more advanced people are working on/with so others can learn new technologies
<CGMonroe> So, we're all agreed that Allen will do a two hour prez... right?
<shibby> CGMonroe: yep, those bulls game + school starts back up
<afreeman> *yawn* Lear to troll, Monroe.
<shibby> CGMonroe: correct, afreeman will need to step up and talk about changes in D8
