Does anyone have Drupal on a Stick?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Over in the DrupalCampUK event planning thread started by Galooph, Richardcanoe mentioned:

"There are lots of Apache - MySQL - PHP implementations out there now for both windows & MacOS which are designed to be hosted on a USB stick.

Attendees could have a drupal on a stick as something to use at a DrupalCamp, but also to take away and play with. This would enable non tech users to get to grips wth the look and feel and test modules and settings.

Does anyone who's organized events have any examples of a distribution for a key?

Does it depend on the OS of the person's computer they bring? Could the key also have a *nix OS on it as well?

I'd like to sbe able to download a disk image and plonk it on a key, which already had the OS, Apache, MySql, PHP and 3 sites with drupal, 5.x, 6.x and 7.x on it.

Has anyone ever put this together? Anyone know how to put this together?

Thanks for any tips/links/leads, etc!

(It'd be great to use it at our event in Ireland on 15th of November, but we're pressed for time I suppose).

Hey Heather,

This can definitely be done, it shouldn't be too hard, it will just take a little time to setup. I found a couple of blogs from development seed (from last year) that talk about this:
