A good idea that was a long time coming -- thanks for kicking it off!

I've been using Drupal for about 5 years at work (Lafayette College) and at home. I started off with 4.7, using it as a rudimentary blogging platform at the college and converting my personal site to it from a homegrown CMS. Since then I've weathered the various upgrades, and I have to say that I feel Drupal's really coming into its own with D7.

I'd like to see an LV group have the occasional social gathering (maybe once a quarter?) and talk about some shared challenges we've faced with Drupal (D6 to D7 upgrades anyone?) as well as successes we've had.

I've been using drupal for around 2 years. I had little interest in it until an opportunity for some coding came up. Guy needed a module developed to sell electronic goods in SecondLife. I jumped into Drupal from a developers standpoint, without ever even USING drupal before. I liked the framework, so i eventually moved my Jeep site, and a few personal blogs over to Drupal. I'm running 6, attempting to move to 7.

Drupal admin for ... 2 years? Using it for less.. Admin, of course, being the guy that configures the server, installs the software, etc. Drupal manipulation itself is a more recent thing.. I'm concentrating on D7 since I'm new to this. No use in learning the old stuff. :P

Drupal Developer

I work from home for a web and mobile development shop based in Baltimore called Accella. I've worked there for about a year and it's been Drupal since day one. I had never used Drupal and had only heard the name before working at Accella. We build sites ranging from simple blogs and marketing sites consisting of a few pages to complex web applications with various custom features and e-commerce.

I'm really excited that this group is starting. I've looked a few times for Lehigh Valley Drupal groups, but all I ever came across was outdated posts that weren't really related to the Lehigh Valley. With that being said, I definitely have some hopes and ideas. I'd like to see this group have a regular meetup to discuss people's projects and how they're implementing Drupal. It'd be nice to form a small community of support here, too. So, if you have some issues or want to show off something, it can be talked about and posted here. There are other places for finding Drupal support, plenty of them, but it'd be interesting to see what would happen if we foster this community.

Thank you, everyone, for

Thank you, everyone, for posting! I supposed I should as well ...

I was exposed to Drupal at a .Net development company where we used it to help keep our engineers communicating what they were working on. When I needed to roll out a CMS (in crazy short order) at a new job, I turned to Drupal and cut my teeth on D5 since D6 was still so new at the time (about 3 years ago). Since then I've rolled out most sites in D6 and am very pleased that D7 looks about ready for what I need. In recent months I've tried to move from assembling sites (and some theming) in Drupal to beginning custom module development.

I am currently employed at Lafayette College where I do a variety of web work, but integrate Drupal as much as I can. I took this position and relocated to the Lehigh Valley last summer so I'm pretty new to the are also. Needless to say I've been very happy to find there are other Drupal folks nearby that would like to get together!

I hope to be announcing a quasi-official meetup date in the very near future for August so keep checking in for details!

Anyone else - how about the folks just hanging out in the member list - mind doing a quick intro?

Drupal at Lehigh University Libraries

The Lehigh Libraries introduced a Drupal 6 site in January, 2011: http://library.lehigh.edu/. I am the Libraries' sys admin while our web admin handles most of our customization. We're relatively new to Drupal and currently navigating the the learning "cliff". We've been involved with the Drupal4Libraries group and we attended Drupaldelphia in Summer 2010.

Looking forward to meeting local Drupalers!

Good to see this group getting started!

I've been working with Drupal for about five years. It started with a community site I built in Drupal 4 and the site became my Drupal learning ground for a couple years.

I'm currently working for a local Ad Agency as the Drupal specialist and also do some freelance Drupal work. Drupal allows us to build site functionality faster with a lot of flexibility and also allows more people to get involved in the content entry process, including our clients and people who aren't always html wizards. Pretty much every site we develop is in Drupal at this point and over the past 3.5 years I've developed around 60 sites with it, mostly in 6 but currently in 7.

I see this group as a networking and knowledge sharing opportunity.
