Why is drupal 7 being releasing new updates at very short intervals, I has now reached to Drupal 7.7
Just 2-3 weeks back we got 7.5 and know 7.7
We should discuss and understand before we migrate our systems to Drupal 7 and under take new projects on Drupal 7
What is the road map for Drupal 7
Let us all discuss this out

D-7
I agree with you. And what's srprising is that D-8 has been launched even before D-7 is stable and modules work flawlessly enough to move forward. Places production websites at a disadvantage!
Webchick has a good a good
Webchick has a good a good explanation on the version numbers in here blogpost Drupal Core Diaries: 7.4 -> 7.7. OMG WTF BBQ?. The CHANGELOG.txt file in a Drupal installation is a good place to look at as well.
As for a Roadmap, that is something the Drupal never had and I don't think it will in the forceable future. In open source projects where people work on what they are interested in a proper roadmap is difficult. It's only when you pay people a good salary you can tell them what to work on.
Development on Drupal 8 has started, it's where all new stuff goes. There are a number of Drupal 8 initiatives that is documented here http://groups.drupal.org/drupal-initiatives.
Drupal 7 is released and its API is frozen so there will only be bug and security fixes for Drupal 7. Drupal 6 will be supported with bug and security fixes until the day Drupal 8 is released.
If you start building a new Drupal web site today you have version 6 and 7 to choose from. When the day comes for Drupal 8 to be released you will have version 7 and version 8 to choose from.
Choosing a Drupal version on drupal.org is a good place to read more about Drupal versions.
Do agree with you, but rapid
Do agree with you, but rapid changes and updates at a short interval, puts us on thought process whats happening should we adapt new version or wait for the current sub-version to stabilize for some month.
As we all know production server sites as to be running with no hick-ups.
Client only understands the site is live and his customers can visit the site.
So this is to discuss and understand what his happening in Drupal 7 and around.
There is always a vision for Drupal to carry forward and make happy all clients, developers and designing community.

Drupal7.7 releas
Thanks for post webchick.
Drupal 7.7 is just Drupal 7.6 with a fixed VERSION string and need more testing before deployment. Drupal 7.5 is for Quick deployment and fixes for security vulnerabilities have been committed. New features are only being added to the forthcoming Drupal 8.0 release. i am upgrading drupal7.7 for my one client.
I totally agree with you
Viral, I think its really good that we are getting quick fixes on Drupal7 so as to make it stable ASAP. It would be easy to move clients from D6 to D7 once we have a stable core and more stable modules. If such fixes keep coming regularly, it will be easier for all of us to get used to D7 quickly.
@jswasan- Drupal 8 has not been launched yet, its just that the development on D8 has started. And its good I guess for the new ideas that need to be implemented.

A middle way can be the one already implemented by popular operating systems. They offer rapid updates to core features but they publish a major version after certain period. Take an example of fedora. The release cycle is 6 months. And in between there are lots of patches/updates are available that you can install on your system. But when the major version is published, it has all those fixes + new feature. So I believe releasing a version just for fix of one line, it would be great to publish it with few more features.
