Our August Meeting will be 7:00 PM Thursday, August 25, back at the St. Louis Artist's Guild, Two Oak Knoll Park, in Clayton.

We will meet in the Children's' Gallery on the second floor. (For those of you who came in April or May, this is the same area.) Enter the building through the side door with the ramp, and look for the stairway just ahead and on the right, a short distance inside. Go up one flight and then through the second floor doorway, into the main hall. Look for an open gallery area to your right at the end of this hall. That's where we will meet.

Wifi will be available, so bring your laptop.

If you have something you would like to cover at the meeting, sound off here. Personally, I've been having fun with Node Gallery and Plupload, and would be happy to show these if anyone is interested. (For now, Node Gallery is Drupal 6 only, but Plupload is in beta for Drupal 7.)

August Meetup

OddSim's picture

I'm looking forward to the August meetup.

I've been using Feeds to import and update over 60,000 nodes on a Drupal 7 website. If that's something that interests people, I'd be happy to discuss the mechanics of Feeds, challenges I encountered, and code modifications I've had to make.

Edit: it looks like I won't be able to come this month.

Sure

I'd like to see that.

The Guild's projector which we have used in the past has been a little finicky about connecting via anything other than the VGA cable, and is now stuck in a horizontally stretched aspect ratio. They have a new projector which has a fairly poor image. I can borrow an older projector which has a clean image, but a rather chunky display: this third projector is fine for images and videos, but sometimes small text is too crude to read.

So, for now, I don't have a great solution for a projector. I could get either of the three above, but none is ideal.

Anyone else have a projector to bring?

Anyone have any experience with the little Pico pocket projectors? They are inexpensive, and I've been considering picking one up, but i've never seen the image the project.

Can't come

Sorry, but it turns out that I won't be able to come next week. I hope you have a good meeting!

anyone else?

Will anyone else be able to make this meeting Thursday?

I see Doug B has signed up. Jeff, are you still in? anyone else?

I'm definitely in. And as an

I'm definitely in. And as an alternative to Feeds, I used Migrate to import about 90,000 nodes, 40,000 users, 9,000 comments, and a few hundred thousand other data points for www.flockNote.com to Drupal 7 - I'd be happy to share a bit about the process, and how Migrate is a good alternative to Feeds (for more diverse data migration needs ;-).

I wish I could be at DrupalCon London, but I had to miss it this year. Drupal Guild meetup will have to take it's place :)

I'm in.

Sorry but I've been swamped and keep forgetting to sign up.

Great! We're on!

Okay, we have plenty to call it a meeting. I did pick up a little portable projector (steeply discounted due to being a refurb) so we will definitely have a projector. So far, the only video adapter I have for it is standard VGA, so if anyone wants to use it to show something, be sure to bring a VGA adapter for your computer.

New to Group

Jean, I am new to the group but would like to stop by and introduce myself. I am working on an online education project to be built in Drupal.

Please do

Migrate process

Hey everyone - thanks for the great meetup yesterday! I've posted a bit of a comprehensive summary of my Migrate process for flockNote over on my blog: http://www.midwesternmac.com/blogs/jeff-geerling/using-migrate-import-co...
