For those of you that are not headed into DC on Jan 20, Bryan House, Director of Marketing, Acquia, will give a 15 minute talk (via WebCam from his office in Boston) about selling Drupal services to the Government. Bryan's talk will be followed by a panel discussion of the nuts and bolts of Government contracting, Q&A and networking.
Who should attend:
- Government contractors who want to learn more about Drupal, an Open Source CMS that is rapidly gaining popularity.
- Drupal developers who want to learn how to sell Drupal services to the Government.
- Anyone looking for an opportunity to network with Government contractors or Drupal development shops.

Its going to be a doozy getting to the meeting
I signed up for the Teqcorner meet since I am coming from Ashburn which is West of Mclean. Two of my colleagues wanted to attend though but can't because they'd have to come from Silver Spring, MD and have to take the Beltway to get there. Which on the best of days is a modified parking lot and on the 20th.... fugggedaboutit...
Yeah, I may have
Yeah, I may have underestimated just how ugly traffic is going to be on the 20th. It may be a small group :-) .

Event notes
The event went well. It was lightly attended - it didn't help any that the police had the east bound access road blocked off :-( . Bryan House gave a nice overview of government sites currently using Drupal, and he talked about Acquia's plans for supporting government sales. Eric Todd is a VP at Planning Systems, Inc, a Reston based government contractor, and he talked about the challenges of selling to the feds. In a sentence, he suggested allowing two years to build relationships with COTRs and to get a government sales pipeline in place!
