Okay as I stated in my last Drupal Meet-up (I'm a Droob!) I am working on my first Drupal site, and what I am looking into doing is for example, when I create articles on newsworthy stuff - that it would get put or I can select the appropriate location it should be a sub-category of. As of now when I save an article it would do a node/2 (but I had to type in the url field like daw/ghdc-banquet-2011-success. So if I want to have a way of picking what subcategory the article is to be under - how do I go about doing that? Thoughts?
Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Forgive my Droobish!
BTW - How many of ya'll went to the Schupialcon (Im sad Im missing it), and ya'll get to see/meet Dries?

Can you just make a category
Can you just make a category vocabulary and set the correct term during node creation?
I am not sure if your
I am not sure if your question is about the url structure or taxonomy, but I think what you want is to make a category vocabulary as neclimdul says, and then look into pathauto and set up your taxonomy url alias pattern to reflect the categories.
I didn't get to make it over
I didn't get to make it over to SchipulCon, but Dries is a super cool guy, and I highly recommend making it to the next DrupalCon in Denver to say hi and thank him for all his work. It is an absolute MUST for anyone into Drupal. Every Drupaler needs to get to at least one DrupalCon, and preferably more.
I also HIGHLY recommend attending any DrupalCamp you can make it to... Austin, Dallas, New Orleans, wherever.
I'm heading to NYC next week to for the always awesome Do It With Drupal, put on by the fun and brilliant people at Lullabot. I went to the first two that were held in New Orleans and learned SO much. I can't say enough good things about their conference. It was an intensive and immersive Drupal experience that improved my skills significantly each time, and especially the first.
Incidentally, I first met Dries at OSCON a few years ago, and I remember him thanking me for using Drupal at Linux Journal, and I of course responded with, "Sure, and thanks for making Drupal so I can have a job." :)
