Hello. I am hoping to get some clarity on the current state and development of the paypalpro module for ecommerce. I noticed that as of today (November 11th, 2006) the module is not included in the current version of ecommerce (4.7.x-1.x). In the "Modules Summary and 4.7 Release Status" section or the ecommerce README, paypalpro's status is listed as "cvs". So I tracked down the module at http://cvs.drupal.org/viewcvs/drupal/contributions/modules/ecommerce/con... , however it's README states, "These paypal modules are not yet released with 4.7 and should be considered either incompatible, unstable or unfinished."
I have been reading http://drupal.org/node/74560 but it sheds little light on this topic. Is there a stable paypalpro module for ecommerce 4.7, and if not what is the development status.

The development version of
The development version of ppp is working with EC 5. and can be backported to 4.7.
The main reason that this has not been added to 4.7 as stabe is that it does not comply with paypal's terms and conditions for how a payment gateway is to work.
It is not just a little off, it is off by a large amount. Also because of the required order of the checkout as per paypals requirements, I am not sure if we can accomodate this.
To get paypal pro working with 4.7/5 it is going to take a lot of very specific work with very intermate knowledge of the inner workings of the the EC checkout system. There is really only a couple of people who could get this work and comply with paypal requirements, and also work properly with EC.
For most of these people this is very low on the list behind getting EC 5 released.

This is interesting, I had not been aware of the issue... Sites are required to provide both the Direct Payment API and PayPal Express Checkout together:

And then they are also required to collect the address information from paypal, not from the address module as it is done now.
They are pretty specific about the checkout proceedure.

PayPal Pro PHP API
Hey guys,
I'm new so hello! I've downloaded paypal php api which is name/value pairs. It works perfect right out of the box.
I've talked with a rep and as long as your checkout page has the pp express, you can like have it at bottom saying "We Also Honor PayPal", PayPal express checkout etc... blaeh bleh...".
I'll be working with this as soon as I can find the time.

I have installed ecommerce module for paypal pro integration. It installed successfully.
Now I want to know how can I use it. I have to do payment with credit card through Paypal Pro. I also have detail information regarding API certificates and all but don't know how to start to integrate. Please anybody provide me the information.
