And... we have our first module

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Alfresco module released:
http://drupal.org/project/alfresco

While Rumor has it through Alfresco channels that Acquia is working on Alfresco integration with the Alfresco organization, the first release isn't from them but a community member Sergio Martín Morillas (xergius) from GMV, a Web Development organization with offices in the US and Spain (from what I can tell from their website). It's really fantastic to finally have one of these contributions released - I've heard about a lot of them in the community, but as yet none have made it to the community besides this, so it's very exciting.

According to the documentation, the contribution consists of three main elements:

  • alfresco.module: The main module. Provides a new 'Alfresco item' node content
type for Drupal sites. The 'Alfresco item' node embeds Alfresco contents
inside your site, with support for direct and private download of the files
stored in Alfresco repository, caching of file properties, syncing of nodes,
    Views support...
  • alfresco_attach.module: Allows users to create and attach alfresco items to
other Drupal content (similar to upload.module).
  • alfresco_import.module: Allows importing multiple alfresco nodes from a space
    of Alfresco.

I haven't had a chance to play around more than this, but it does look like the right direction for a general-purpose library for Drupal/Alfresco integration, and I'll be digging in - you should too.

There is also Drupal/Alfresco:

Has anyone done a comparison of the two?

Wonder which will have a D7 version out first?
