All,
I know many of you have already registered on meet-up here http://www.meetup.com/drupalatlanta/calendar/9485079/, but wanted to make sure the g.d.o. specific members were aware of the upcoming presentation. If you have not done so already please RSVP on meetup.com as soon as possible to assist with pre-planning.
As usual, come early if you would like to network with a group of like-minded peers or if you are a "newbie" and want to find out more about Drupal in general. This promises to be an excellent presentation by Bill Shaouy who leads the Atlanta IBM Drupal team. Bill will cover many of the "how'd you do that" type questions associated with the project.
SUMMARY
On February 17th we'll be at the 5 Seasons off Old Milton Parkway in Alpharetta with a special presentation by IT Architect Bill Shaouy on his recent project for the Georgia Department of Community Health. Thanks to a new Drupal-powered solution designed and authored by Bill and the team at IBM –- GeorgiaHealthInfo.Gov -- Georgia citizens can now make better decisions about their health care, and DCH staffers will be able to author their own content, including health plan comparisons and health privacy information.

7:00 - 8:15pm - Speaker presentation
8:15 - 8:30 pm - Q&A

Atlanta Drupalers; In case
Atlanta Drupalers;
In case you didn't know, the Drupal Atlanta User Group conducts two meetings each month--at geographically diverse locations, and with different formats.
The meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month is formatted as a Hands-on workshop. Sometimes there is no preset agenda for this meeting. We set the agenda at the meeting based on whats on the minds of the attendees. That meeting is held at Manuels Tavern (and restaurant), and is conveniently located in south Atlanta metro.
The meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of each month is formatted with a presentation, case study, or similar preestablished agenda. This presentation workshop is held at 5 Seasons Pub (and restaurant), and is conveneiently located at the north end of the Atlanta metro.
Finally, in my last message I erroneously cited the date for the 5 Seasons meeting as February 27th. That was an error. The actual date is February 17, 2009. Details for February 2009 follow.
The February Drupal HANDS-ON Workshop will be on Tuesday February 10th at 7:30PM.
Location:
Manuel's Tavern
602 N.highland Ave NE
Atlanta, GA 30308
North Ave. meeting room.
This meeting will follow-up on the January topic about theming.
We will share knowledge on how to use Views to enhance a Drupal site.
A forum topic for this workshop has been created on the Drupal Atlanta web site at:
http://www.drupalatlanta.com
If you need to contact the organizer-Richard Van Slyke--you can do so from the DrupalAtlanta Web site.
