Update our site using Drupal

Hi folks,

Just joined and I'm looking for some input before I make the jump to Drupal. I'd excited about using it as I revamp our current (old and static) website (http://project-43.com). I'm hoping I'll be able to use some existing themes and modules to get setup quickly and then take some time to continue to modify and customize the site.

I'm familiar with Wordpress and basic HTML/CSS. I don't think I'll have to much of a problem learning Drupal, but I'm interested to find out if there are quick ways to get the site up. It'll be hosted on Godaddy and they do have Drupal 7.9 available.

Thanks for any advice and please excuse me if I've not followed any protocols in posting here. I just arrived and I'm still looking around. :)

Thanks!

Steve

Drupal music platform or possibly hosted Drupal Gardens?

Hey Rockermann - there's been an ongoing effort to build an easy to use/configure music platform. Hopefully they'll be some sort of Pushtape release in the next month or so. Another option to get up and running really fast would be Drupal Gardens. One great thing about their service is you can export the entire site (files and db) if you want to host yourself and add the Pushtape features when that's ready.

Hope that helps

Thanks, Gus. I'm not looking to move the site, I already have a paid hosting account so I guess I'll keep an eye out and see if something comes along.

Prototype and export

You could prototype the site on Drupal Gardens and then export the site (files and db) to your own server for free. Building a site from scratch on D7 is also a viable option.
