Sorry if this is considered spam, but I was wondering if folks here had any idea of how I might find some local Drupal talent. We're a 20-person company in Burlingame that runs about 30 sites and we're growing quickly. We recently made a big commitment to Drupal and we're in the process of converting old sites to Drupal and building new ones from scratch. We need everything from theming to module development.
I would love to hire a web developer/engineer type on a full-time basis, but we're also open to folks looking for contract work. Obviously, someone who is a Drupal ninja already would be great, but we don't mind helping to develop someone as well.
I've posted on CraigsList and the jobs board at Drupal.org with limited success. If any of you have ideas or know someone who might be interested, please send them my way: erik at trouvemedia dot com.
Sorry for the interruption!

What's so hard about learning Drupal?
I certainly understand the desire to have a built in expert to do a job. But is Drupal really so hard that a smart, creative person couldn't pick it, embrace the development model, and be very productive, without paying a premium for Drupal talent?
Perhaps the question should be what should I teach my staff so they can more effective at using Drupal?
Cheers,
Kieran
