November Meetup/Holiday Schedules

Since we're quickly entering the holiday season, I thought it might be a good idea to discuss combining our November and December meetups into one earlier December meetup.

Does that seem like a good idea? How would Dec 15th work? We might even change the venue to mix it up and have a little fun.

November and December are just not good months to try to do something in the last week of the month. :)

I am open to suggestion for ideas too. Drupal caroling? lol (Imagine going from office to office just singing the Drupal song. We'd get arrested... lol) I am still enthusiastic about Drupal on wheels. If not here, then at DrupalCon Denver. It is on! Drupal + roller skates at thursday night adult skate? You know you want to. :) Other ideas are welcome too of course. Perhaps it will be cool enough for a fireside meetup at the Black Lab or something?

Combining the Nov/Dec meetups makes sense. 12/15/2011 works for me. I'm a bit of a shut-in, so I couldn't really help much with alternative venue selections. Stag's Head comes to mind, but they'd want us to buy some food while there. I've eaten there during the Python/Django meetups and I have NO problem eating. :-) Anyone else have any alternate venue selections?

There's a Drupal song?!? Where's a link to that?

I haven't skated in a LONG time, so I'm gonna have to pass on Drupal On Wheels. I'd be more like that new show, Hell On Wheels. If I go down, I'm taking a LOT of people with me!

We need you cooperation PLEASE!
So far Kojo is the only one who responded. The original meetup date for December is the 22nd, that's 2 day before Christmas eve, it will be pointless to setup a meeting on that day if all of you will be away or unavailable, it will be also pointless to set it up on the 15th if no one is willing to send in their feedback...

Geoff from Caroline Collective is gracefully helping us to spread the Drupal love by including our meetup dates in the Caroline Collective newsletter, but he needs a date too.

So... Not to sound like an Israeli drill sergeant, but I need your feedback yesterday :)

Please, help me out here.

Geoff asked me to confirm before he sends out the CC newsletter, but unfortunately less than a handfull answered me back, and the newsletter went out today without us in it.

I guess we can all meet somewhere else, to have some change of scenery/air and have a Drupal Happy Hour!
I think some Drupal eggnogs, hot toddy's and some buttery rums might be in order :)

I am up for going somewhere fun and different for December though. Holiday Drupaling! I am still into my Drupal caroling idea... lol.

Or perhaps we could just do something more low-key. :)

Sadly, I can't make many recommendations as far as alternative venues, as I don't get out much. All I could really come up with would be Stag's Head or CoffeeGroundz. Both have food and WiFi (GOTTA have WiFi!), but the Stag's Head food selection is better. CGz doesn't have alcohol anymore, but there IS a Specs across the street.

But I think Geri has a better chance of getting the drink selection he mentioned at Stag's Head.

But if anyone knows of any other places they'd recommend, I'm up for it. Just let me know where to be.

Excellent question. We talked a bit about getting together tomorrow at some place like the teahouse on shepherd and westheimer or firkin and phoenix if anyone wants beer.

Thoughts?

Kojo and I have discussed bringing up some topics like a local effort around Drupal core office hours.
