hi drupalers, i got the solution througth the below process
Go to admin/config/people/captcha/captcha/settings in the blank text box under "Form Protection" enter the form_id of the webform and save the configuration. Go to the webform page and you should be able to see the captcha there.
To quickly find the form_id of the webform, take the node id and append it to "webform_client_form_", for example if the node id is 3 your webform form_id will be "webform_client_form_3". If this is not your case, you can always use firebug to inspect the hidden form_id field.
I know this is an older thread but this info will help someone who stumbles here. In Captcha 7.x-1.0-beta2, you can enable the "Add CAPTCHA administration links to forms" option in the Captcha configuration. This option puts a link at the bottom of all forms (when viewing the form in edit mode) that will allow you to enable Captcha for that form. This automatically adds the webform_client_form_X entry to the Captcha settings.

Adding Capcha to a webform
Thanks 'Hari' it worked for me. BTW I got the form ID from the database. Look for the 'Webform' table in phpMyAdmin and that gives the node ID.
Worked like a charm!

I think this can add CAPTCHA
I think this can add CAPTCHA only for one page. But how to add CAPTCHA for ALL webforms?
CAPTCHA: CHALLENGE "RECAPTCHA" ENABLED
Clarifying that Webform for D7 has this option already if you have Captcha and reCaptcha modules installed.
Just edit your webform node > under Webform tab > CAPTCHA: CHALLENGE "RECAPTCHA" ENABLED > set to Enable.
