It was pretty quiet on my previous thread about what presentations everyone would like to see at the xmas meetup.
Pipe up on this thread if you'd like to see anything. I was keen on seeing Rupert's Commerce one and am still prepared to do something on panels if you're interested (in fact, I'm not sure if you are around, or reading this Marcus - but aren't you the super duper panels expert?)
If no one fancies this though we can still just do some drinks there will at least be the few regulars there. I just need to find a definite venue or source a projector if we are planning to do the presentations
Don't be surprised if I IM or twitter you about this to rally a response :o)

Really interested in what
Really interested in what people do to make the admin interface 'simpler' for end users - removing admin menu items, fields, generally streamlining the process.
Or do you tend to leave the admin system as it is?
And if anyone wants to share anything about panels and/or commerce that would be great, as I've only scratched the surface with them.
Depends on the client ..
Normally we only give editors/admins what they need to do their job. It's part of our process to find out what that is and tweak the admin control panel as needed ... basically removing access to certain functionality and making dedicated forms for tasks that go beyond the standard content & user management.
Client's will always have access to the 'superuser' account but they are given strict guidance in regards to messing around with sites settings and such, most never want to access that anyway.
Me too
There are a few areas of the admin interface I don't feel comfortable handing over to clients "as is" and have to fix, where do you guys normally meet up, wouldn't mind have a chat over a few areas.
hi chris!
We meet at the Elephant http://www.theelephantbristol.co.uk/location.html in Bristol on the first Wednesday of every month - so this coming Wednesday. We may well have a bumper turn out for christmas too, come along :)
How about a quick
How about a quick show-and-tell of Drupal sites people have done this year?
thatd be good too
maybe a site, and a list of the three things that were new to you, or particularly special about it - then take some questions on how you achieved it (if everyone doesnt mind sharing)
Afraid I'll be working in
Afraid I'll be working in London then :-(
I'll try to make it to a Bristol meetup sooner or later!

cool, would be good to see you at one. i know mid week is no good for those of you who are based in london during the week though.
Can't make it again...
Annoyingly, I can't make it on Weds. My Girlfriend's out of the country, and getting back that eve, so I need to pick her up. I'm still up for doing a thing on commerce though - hopefully at the next one?
thats cool rupert. Thanks for
thats cool rupert. Thanks for letting us know, it seems like the idea for proper talks has died out a bit anyway - so maybe the jan meet up (first wed in Jan? we might wanna push is back a week...) would be best.
