Conquering Media Mover

Thanks, Frost, for having the confidence to lead us in a by-the-seat-of-your-pants exploration of installing and using MediaMover despite realizing that it would potentially (probably?) be less than smooth.

I, for one, appreciated this format for a session. Polished presentations with finished solutions and slides certainly have their place-- but so does putting our collective experience and ideas together to hash through a real-world issue and tackle it as a group until we all succeed or fail together. Kudos to everyone for participating. It seems like just about everyone contributed to what ended up being a successful venture.

Summarizing the (incomplete) recipe we came up with (technical details up for clarification):
* FFMPEG on the webserver
* MediaMover and associated modules (Frost noted that he would post an updated list and instructions on his site: http://www.frostsimula.com)
* Filefield
* Flashfield (patched version)
* SWFTools

Mediamover coordinated the upload of a media file (WAV video) to be processed (converted) by FFMPEG into an FLV video file which was moved to a CCK filefield which was then processed by a CCK flashfield to be embedded into the original node along with our choice of flashvideo player as coordinated by the SWFTools module settings we configured.

I'm interested in getting the whole thing documented more fully (here and drupal.org). Let us know how we can help. I've kicked things off by contacting the maintainer of the flashfield module to get a fix on how/when we might expect a patched version to be made available letting him know we'll be publishing a recipe that includes that module.
