The Skiff, Brighton's coolest coworking space (which has just doubled in size so consider joining up before it fills up again!) is the location for Drupal Coworking Friday, a worldwide event spurred in part by the DrupalEasy Podcast #65 which featured Droplabs, a Drupal coworking space in Downtown Los Angeles, and from whom I mostly ripped this text ;). We're in Downtown Brightoncisco and are happy to host anyone in our local community or who is just passing through for some coworking on the last Friday of each month for some coworking. This event is free!
About Drupal Coworking Friday:
- Proposed date: Last Friday of each month
- It takes place in your local city
- Anyone can start/host one
- Focused on Drupal Professionals (freelance, fulltime, part time, in office, home, etc.)
- This is not a meetup, code-sprint, BoF or presentation
- Attendees would still do their regular work/calls/etc
- Other Drupal folks would be there to talk to, collaborate, advise (and likewise for the attendee)
- Ideally, an entire section of the space will be dedicated for Drupal professionals

Just bring your laptop, your business cards or whatever else you need. There's a small tuck shop in the space for snacks, plus plenty of shops near for more substantial food & drink.
I am/my company purkiss ltd. is sponsoring the hire of "The Bridge" (large meeting room upstairs) in order that the event is kept free for those who want to come along, however please do sign up if you can come along as we have limited space!

Yesterday the new part of http://theskiff.org opened up so we are able to use some of the downstairs area instead of being in the upstairs meeting room.

Great!
Went great - I had to leave half way through but from what I heard everyone had a good time!
We'll be doing it again this month, in the main coworking space so you'll need a basic Skiff mate membership which is £25pcm if you sign up in Feb, then goes up to £29pcm - that gives 2 days per month - see http://theskiff.org. Unfortunately I can't afford £80 to hire a room for the day!
It would be cool to do this
It would be cool to do this in London sometime, even tho the London Drupal scene seems to be mostly on site contractors. There's quite a few nice tech co-working spaces in London and would be great to meet more likeminded Drupal professionals.
web agencies should be happy to sponsor the room for the day down here so they can meet prospective contractors/employees!
