I am in the process now of making my first release for Deploy. It will not be quite as fully featured as that demo because some items are held up behind patches to core and/or other modules. However you will be able to get a feel for it and push nodes around.
Right now the code is in CVS and there's an up to date INSTALL.txt if anyone wants to get a jumpstart on it. I'm currently putting together a handbook area at http://drupal.org/node/408762 with some docs. The dev release will be up sometime in the next 12 hours.
Kind of scared.
