RDF 1.0-alpha7: security, bug fixes and new features

The new alpha7 release of the RDF module ships with an long list of bug fixes and new features. First of all, it fixes a minor security bug which allowed anonymous users to view the RDF data of unpublished nodes. But that's not the only reason why you will want to update to RDF 1.0-alpha7!

Enable RDFa+XHTML Doctype output Beside a whole lot of various bug fixes and optimizations, the RDF module now comes with cool and useful end user functionalities. For one you can now have RDF compliant RSS 1.0 feeds which are easy to setup by following the step by step article Arto Bendiken wrote. There is also a nifty option to make your site "RDFa ready" without having to mess around with your theme files. This enables you to embed inline RDFa in the body of your page or use the RDF CCK module along with the RDFa patch for CCK to export your structured data as RDFa. If you like playing with triples, you will also enjoy the autocompleted CURIEs on the Administer » Content management » RDF data » Add statement screen.

If you are updating from an older RDF module version, make sure to read the release notes as it contains some instructions on how to update to alpha7. As usual when you update a module, don't forget to run the update.php script in the end.

Welcome to new co-maintainers

I should also mention here that in the last month I've granted RDF module CVS access to Jeff Miccolis, Frank Febbraro and Stéphane Corlosquet who have accepted the privilege and burden of co-maintainership of the module. I'm sure all three are familiar names to long-time Drupalers and need no introduction.

Previously also Miglius Alaburda and Ben Lavender already have CVS access. We now have a strong team to push the development of this module forward as well as to ensure timely responses on issue queue questions - a far cry from the bottleneck I've occasionally been for the last year ;-)
