User group meeting
Mark your calendar! We are planning a Drupal Meet Up in the Hampton Roads area for Wednesday, March 7th from 6-7:30pm. Meeting will be held on the campus of Christopher Newport University in Newport News. Room location is still TBD, but will be posted here soon.
We plan to incorporate some introductions, conversations amongst folks, as well as a presentation or two. If you have a presentation idea, throw it our way...we have a few ideas too!
Moving forward, our thought is to host these meetings every month on the 1st Wednesday of the month.
Stay tuned for more details, but we wanted to give you guys a heads up to get it on your calendars.
Looking forward to it!!

My wife is still getting the ROOM Assignment, but CNU campus will work. It may take a few days to know EXACTLY where on campus.

Plans for Wednesday's Meetup
Hi folks,
For the Wednesday meeting we are planning for some networking and introductions, then a presentation (outlined below). If anyone else has a presentation they would like to give or perhaps a topic they'd like to discuss with the group feel free to throw it out there.
Looking forward to it.
Drupal in a Team Environment: Designing, developing and deploying large projects with a team
One difficulty of Drupal is that it is not inherently configured to be used and worked on by a team of developers. When working alone isn't a problem, but when you start to add more team members there are hurdles you have to cross. This session will be a 30,000 foot overview of solutions and approaches to the problem. We’ll touch on version control, project management tools, collaboration tools, server set up, and how to get a project done and still want to be friends.

It's fine to eat in the room.
It's fine to eat in the room. We'll hopefully be able to get on the guest wireless. My wife should be on hand at the beginning of the meeting to get us hooked up. We'll see how it goes with the technology this first time. There are some (10?) PCs in the room but it would not hurt to bring laptops.
Meetup on Wednesday
Great, I'll bring some pizza's and some soda's.
Lookin forward to it!

Sorry you will have to miss the meetup tonight. We are planning to have meetups on the first Wednesday of every month, so hopefully you can catch us next month. We really want to increase Drupal community activity and awareness in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area.

Thanks, Josh. Great presentation last night. Good tips on working in a team environment, but also good information for people working alone.
