Austin Summit: Key takeaways and Next Actions

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

TAKE AWAYS:
The Community Media checklist is being rebundled and repackaged so that basic requirement for users, such as a Drupal.org account will be the barrier for entry into using the system. Subsequently, committing documentation is necessary for participants, done in small chucks on a per module basis - and thorough testing must be done by an end user who fits the end user story for that function - not the admin/developer. It is estimated that there are about 25 contributed modules being and that 25 people need to step up for testing.

QUESTIONS TO PONDER?:
What is the scope of this group? Can you identify who might be interested in partners? Liking Drupal is not enough.

How do we pool money? pool grants, capital funds? Operational funds - system wide from funding streams

Who needs to meet, how often and why? Monthly reports on GDO.

The discussion of dovetailing alongside the ACM is a valid issue.

Kevin has a Readytalk account.

Private documentation communication channels have not worked so we might as well meet in public.

We need some kind of white paper (or brief website that serves as a white paper). Something that can be shared with folks outside the room. For example, to provide to the ACM. Local Drupal groups, MAC groups. Media Reform Coalitions.

What would the story of this white paper be?

1) The mission on the back of the Community Media Summit pamphlet
2) Dan/Stefan/Kevin slide presentation along with audio.
3) Audio from the Thursday and Friday (Elizabeth) presentation.
4) What were the 3 break out groups and what were the takeaways from each?

Due by March 16th.

Stefan will email the whole group. Not just who but where - indicating a broader national interest in this project.
