View all fields in one form

I want to create a bunch of blocks from one form and have them placed in certain regions. The idea is to make it as easy as possible for a client to create a new site with several different entities from a central location. So if I have one content type with a bunch of fields I'd like to create blocks from those fields and hopefully do it all from one form. I'm able to achieve this for the most part with Display Suite but I can't get the blocks to display on more than one node due to the fact that the display is attached to a specific node.

With basic block functionality you're able to decide which nodes you want a block to display on...how do I do this with Display Suite?
