Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

We had 10 folks show up, 6 from the previous meeting and 4 new people. We started off with some chatting before sitting down and hooking up to the projector.

Show and Tell

I shared my first earnest attempt at theming and the department's first full on Drupal site, Pitt's Intelligent Systems Program. I also shared a class project that used RDFa to structure faculty profiles.

Michael H. shared the new Pitt Point site, particularly the admin theme behind it that takes some cues from WordPress's admin theme. He also talked about Patterns, a module that speeds up site configuration.

Fen demonstrated the Selenium Web application testing system.

Usability

At David W.'s recommendation, I brought up the crowd sourced usability project for Drupal 7. I myself will be participating in the next batch of testing, May 18-20.

Anthony B. passed along the link for a usability app, http://silverbackapp.com/

We also watched the Buzzr demo video, the ridiculous new usability project from Lullabot.

Events

We started talking about a potential presence at NetRoots Nation, formerly the YearlyKos Convention, which will be August 13-16 at the David Lawrence Convention Center.

We also discussed having a presence at Podcamp Pittsburgh, which will be October 10 and 11.
