This Drupal and Security presentation is intended to provide practical information, discuss the risks, how to assess risk and protect your Drupal web site. We will introduce the principals of security, threat modeling, discuss the OWASP top 10 and how to ensure your Drupal site meets all the requirements to protect from the most common attacks.   • Drupal Camp PA - August 2nd & 3rd

    Saturday, August 2nd & 3rd
    Pittsburgh, PA

    Drupal Camp PA is a 2 day Drupal developer conference with topical sessions, keynote speakers, "Birds of a Feather" breakouts, and code sprints. The theme of the conference "Bridging Higher Education & Industry" demonstrates the understanding of the importance of open source solutions in higher education as well as industry.

    This conference is primarily coordinated by an executive committee who actively participates in the Drupal Pittsburgh User Group and Penn State University Drupal User Group. However, the event would not be possible without the help of volunteers dedicated to the Drupal Community.

  • August 2014 Pittsburgh Drupal Meet-up

    When: Tuesday, August 12th at 7:00pm
    Presentation: Apache Solr

    Solr is the popular, blazing fast open source enterprise search platform from the Apache LuceneTM project. Its major features include powerful full-text search, hit highlighting, faceted search, near real-time indexing, dynamic clustering, database integration, rich document (e.g., Word, PDF) handling, and geospatial search.

    Solr is written in Java and runs as a standalone full-text search server within a servlet container such as Jetty. Solr uses the Lucene Java search library at its core for full-text indexing and search, and has REST-like HTTP/XML and JSON APIs that make it easy to use from virtually any programming language.

About Pittsburgh Drupal User Group

Drupal Pittsburgh connects people who use Drupal in and around the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. Users of all skill levels and interests are welcome and encouraged, including site builders, developers, themers, project managers, site owners, content editors, and those of us brand new to the Drupal CMS.

Monthly Meetups

Second Tuesday of each month, from 7 to 9 pm

Come out from behind that keyboard and meet your peers at our monthly Drupal PGH meetup. Meetups are held on the second Tuesday of each month, from 7 to 9 pm, and generally feature an in depth presentation, case studies of sites our members have built, open discussion, and of course some social time to chat and compare notes. Anyone can present; if you have an idea for a topic post a new discussion and tell us about it. Check out the events listing for details on our next meetup. Hope to see you there!
