Make sure to invite me when you have another national Italian event. DrupalCamp has been a great model for motivating and organizing the local community in a country.

Hi Robert,
we're working to build the italian drupal association. After partecipating at the PhpDay Italy and after DrupalDay 2008, we're thinking about the organization of a new DrupalDay (maybe more than one day, we are not sure) in the beginning of 2010.
We will let you know when, have a special guest like you will make it absolutely amazing!
If you have suggestions about how, when and where, please let us know, any help will be absolutely appreciate.

please let all know it is crucial to have an active Drupal camp in Italy

Hi, "Drupal Italia" association here, thanks for your interest :)
There won't be any official Drupal Camp in Italy this year, since we're working on smaller, local(ie: city-level) events.
There will be a major, privately-organized Drupal Day in Rome in December though: http://www.facebook.com/drupalday.
