@Nick all I would say is that these meetups are relaxed and social in structure. I personally tend to draw on the hive-mind knowledge of the Drupal expert community for an hour or so, and then get steadily hammered on ale before crawling home at last orders.
So, as long as you're comfortable with pub environments and you don't mind the occasional conversion drifting off to be about what developers (apparently) get up to when they are alone.. I can't see why you wouldn't be able to take something away from such a night, and indeed have a very merry time to boot.

good place to get Drupal hosting opinions?
I'm Nick. I'm an ISP builder, not a Drupal expert.
I am keen on hearing what Drupalistas want. Is this a good place to go to listen?
If so, I'll stop by the Elephant tomorrow night.
If not, sorry about that - could you help point me in the right direction?
I'm coming tonight, see you
I'm coming tonight, see you at the Elephant.
Me too
Missed the last two - so looking forward to catching up with everyone again!
