Yep, this does overlap Drupalcon Munich, but the focus of these summits to really to help promote Drupal in the region as you can see from the other summits going on. I don't think there's much issue with the overlap.

What may help is clarifying the relationship between these events. At first glance they present as different events but the BADcamp site clearly lists the drupal summit as a BADcamp event and BADcamp is a FOUR day event with a format where training and summits are held during the first two days. Just trying to help you out here.

What would really help would be posting comments in the appropriate thread. This event is titled: "Los Angeles Drupal Business Summit". There is no mention of the San Francisco event in the post.
I am sure that somewhere there is a thread on the San Francisco Business Summit, and this entire discussion likely belongs there.
