Special Notice for August Meetings

On the 1st of the month I will be in Costa Rica for three weeks and there will only be one workshop on August 25, 2012 on Miami Beach.

Dan Denysenko will be taking over in Coral Gables for August 13, 2012. I hope you will join Dan in Coral Gables that Monday Evening at 6:00pm while I am gone.

What Happened at Drupal of Miami Monthly Meeting

This past Wednesday evening Hector Iribarne gave a very good presentation on "Managing Drupal Sites with BOA (Barracuda Octopus Aegir). Thank you Hector. I would like to welcome Anderson Vagas to our group.

I would also like to thank Dan Denysenko, Anderson Vagas, Karel Diaz, and Alan Cassidy for their help in explaining how different aspects of managing Drupal. We all had a good time sharing our experiences working with Drupal. Our special thanks goes out to Hector for his expert presentation.

What Happened at our Last Workshop Coral Gables

We worked on installing the Module Filter and WYSIWYG Modules. We also went through the setup steps on configuring each module. As I pointed out in my last e-mail that I had forgot one thing to get it to work which was I forgot to enable the IMCE in the module setup page.

One more thing I should have mentioned was the fact that the Text Formats needed to be changed. The filtered HTML should be used if you have other people working on your site and you do not want them to make changes to format of the way your Articles, Basic Pages or any other changes to the way pages look to your user or customer. Full HTML should be used to make the WYSIWYG widget to work properly. This is one thing that I forgot about until I had help from Dan Denysenko to remind me. The other format Plain text is used for All roles.

I just wanted to point that out especially to those people that was at the Coral Gable Drupal of Miami workshop on Monday evening.
Please come and join us for the fun.
