Promet Hackathon Aftermath
We had an internal hackathon last week and I'd like to show some of the Drupal modules/solutions we created in 24 hrs. Would love to have some feedback on the things we worked on from the CA-DUGgers!
Very excited to see this and
Very excited to see this and hear about the hackathon!
Lightning Talk submission: Zen Grids
Zen Grids is a Sass plugin that makes complex layouts easier to manage. Responsive design makes a tool like Zen Grids nearly essential. I will present a (very) brief introduction to Sass and demonstrate the flexibility of Zen Grids. Depending on time, I'll cover how the latest version of the Drupal Zen theme uses Zen Grids.
CSS Frameworks!
I've been dabbling in LESS for awhile, and have been meaning to fully embrace SASS and Compass. I look forward to seeing a demo of the newest Zen theme too

CADUG Logo?
I've worked on a few CADUG Druplicon takes to replace the stock vector one we're using right now. I'd like to present my ideas to the group. I don't think the group ought to use any of them just because an organizer presents them but hey- its a way to get the ball rolling.
We would love to see if anyone has any ideas/etc for a "real" logo for the group that we can use for various purposes. So bring ideas/sketches/etc if you want to get involved w this.
Submit and Vote!
Don't forget to submit your lightning talks and vote on the posted ones for tonight!!
meeting notes
Notes from 8.28.12:
stevector did an awesome quick presentation on Zen Grids... slides: http://stevector.github.com/zen_grids_presentation
We had a discussion about the power that inline editing/layout building systems like Aloha, Spark or Panopoly provide to clients and whether or not providing these systems. This is a caveat that can potentially create problems that devs might later have to come back and clean up. There are a few opinions on this but it seems we resolved that empowering site builders is a good thing and not everyone has to provide their end users these tools.
I presented an idea for a new CADUG logo and the group's overall reaction was positive so we're going to try using it for now.
We talked about a few modules including the Relations module. We also talked about some projects that came out of the Promet hackathon including DRIES and Responsive Background Images.
We came up with an initiative to possibly sprint around the time of DCC2012 - with the idea that we might pose an 'issue queue' flash mob on a few different chosen modules. I believe further discussion about the issue queue raid will happen in a future thread on g.d.o/chicago
Overall and really solid meetup with a lot of technical/advanced topics covered. I really need to come up with a way I can document/record these a little better - apologies!
