During the last meetup in Lincoln this past weekend we discussed having a more regular informal get together.
After some discussion we found that having the meetups on a Saturday conflicted with many members ability to spend their weekend time with their families. Having an informal evening get together as a standing option seemed attractive to many. This way, you can leave the office and go have beverages and bites with other Drupalers. From these if we want to organize a more formal meeting to say, tackle a particular task or have a presentation we can schedule on for a suitable time and place.
For the time being we are going to set this weekly event on Monday nights at 5:30 to meet at Lazlo's on 56th and Hwy 2 in Lincoln. The venue is up in the air at this point and could change if there is a reason to (such as wonky wifi).
We fully expect that not everyone would show up every week, but think this could be a good way to increase possible attendance and could help us focus on tasks as a group if discussed more regularly.
Everyone is encouraged to come, just know that you could be the only one. I think exchanging twitter handles would be a good way for people to get a feel for who might be there if tweets go out the day of.

I fully planned on being at Lazlo's tonight but have been commandeered by my family.

I apologize, last Monday I was busy with another event and could not make it. The week before I invited all to come to the Startup Week event but didn't see anyone there.

So sorry about that. I've never tried this before but I'm now using the meetup.com repeating event feature and have repeated this through Oct.
Weekly meetup
Between school sports and travel for work I haven't made it the past couple of weeks, but hopefully things will calm down soon and people will still be interested.

We are going to make it
We are going to make it weekly for now and see how it goes. I definitely can't come every week and wouldn't expect others to be able to do so, but we have quite a few members and if 2 is a quorum for at least a beer, with our number of enthusiastic members, I'd say we have a decent probability of hitting that. However it will probably be important for people to respond to the meetup and state that they are coming, otherwise people will have to take the chance that no one will be there.
