Node Clone and preventing a single CCK field from being copied

I'm sure the answer is already out there, but I can't seem to phrase my query correctly to turn it up. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I want to prevent a single CCK field from being copied over when a node is cloned. Or, I want to know that it is impossible so I can stop trying to figure out how to do it.

If it helps, more details: We have a content type with the usual sorts of fields (title, body, date, location) but also a few additional fields, one of which is the author's email address which is auto-filled from the profile when a node is added fresh. However, if Annie clones a node created by Zeke, we get Zeke's email address instead of Annie's. We've been relying on people to remember to make the change, but sometimes people forget, and we end up with the wrong email address.

Thanks for your help!

Two Options

Both of these options fill in the node automatically. This would confirm the contents, but does not give any flexibility if you need it.

Rules - create a rule to update a field every time a node is modified or created.

Computed field - fill the field with a value when it is saved.

Hope that helps!
