The Future of GRupal

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hello Grupalers, some of you may have heard that I have moved to Mutually Human Software where I am no longer Drupaling. As such, I no longer plan on attending the Drupal meetups. I may stop in every now and again, but I won't be involved in any planning. I tell you this not so that you may be dismayed, but rather that someone else can feel free to step up and bring some momentum back to the group. I believe George is still interested in hosting, but is not prepared to be the organizer for the group. I do have the @Grupal twitter handle and the Grupalers.org domain if anyone is interested.

In case I don't see some of you, thank you for being a part of my life.

I believe Jon Pichot will have some input here...

Hey, Ross, thanks for all

Hey, Ross, thanks for all your support and help over the years with the Drupal group. We've all learned a lot from you.

I trust we'll keep our meetings going, and I'm happy to help in whatever way I can. I don't know what's involved with "being the organizer" as you say, but surely one of us can step up.

Yes, thank you for keeping

Yes, thank you for keeping the group going. I hope to see you around!

I would be interested in helping to keep the group going with Dan and George.

hey guys - i will gladly continue to show up and unlock the doors, but at this point i can't take on planning duties.

Well, it sounds like the planning duties involve making sure there is an agenda for the night and that some presentation or organized activity is prepared?

I could probably handle that or try to. Tyler says he could help. Perhaps between Tyler and me we could do this?

Me too

If you want another name for the planning team, I could help out as well.

PS: I'll be out of town during the next meeting.

I met Ross on the train to DrupalCon two years back - I'll miss seeing him each month but wish him well!

I wouldn't mind taking over the twitter and Grupalers.org domain. Shoot me an email at telephant00@gmail.com

Hello everyone! Like Ross,

Hello everyone!

Like Ross, I've started a new job where I am no longer working with Drupal. I've had a ton of fun getting to know all of you, and I'll certainly miss our outings to the Winchester. I'm glad to see the group will live on after Ross and I are no longer organizing.

Tyler, there's a Facebook group for GRupal. I think George and Ross are still admins. We didn't really use it very much, but it might serve useful in building awareness about the group.

Double Loss

Yikes! Congrats. on the new position but - like Ross - you will be greatly missed! Are you both still working for the same folk - in a different capacity? or have you moved on to other companies? Send us you contact info. if you can.

Both Ross and I have started

Both Ross and I have started at different companies. You can still get ahold of me via email, FB, and twitter. We'll be around. We're still in town. :)

Hey Guys,

FWIW, we'd be happy to have you join up and make one of you a group admin at the Michigan Drupal Meetup group. We've worked with some of you in the past to do a meetup in Battle Creek and are looking to get others on the West side of the state involved so we can bring Druplers state-wide closer together.

I'm one of 5 or 6 group administators and we've been bringing the Detroit, Ann Arbor and other groups closer together over the last few years. We just did our largest meetup with Commerce Guys a couple months ago and got 91 Drupalers out on a Tuesday night!

If anyone's interested, feel free to msg or call me to discuss.

Hi Alex, Thanks for your

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your interest and support. I'm not sure I understand what you are suggesting. As an admin on that group you have, what would that mean for us? Does it mean would would post our monthly invites there too? I guess I don't quite understand what you are suggesting and how we could help support the Michigan Drupal Meetup Group.

Hi Dan, simply making an

Hi Dan, simply making an additional option available to you guys since you're losing some group members. We'd definitely love to have you guys post your monthly invites on the site and can give one of you the proper access. I just need to know who'll be coordinating.

Mostly, I'm just trying to provide support or help however we can. I know the loss of active group members can be a detriment to any group and by connecting the larger state-wide Drupal community perhaps we can help provide some growth or continuity at the least.

Anyway, just an invitation. If there's no value to you guys-- no problem!
