where to edit new account message in Drupal?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

My client has requested to customize the wording of the default messages that Drupal sends to the new member when they sign up for a new account. You know the one that sends the new member their username and password. Where can I edit these messages in Drupal 6?

Hi Katy,

Are you talking about a system message that shows on the screen or the email message? I'm assuming it's the email as that's how the email/password or verification link gets sent. For that, go here: /admin/user/settings
