Best place to discuss Drupal Commons 3?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hi everyone -- I am a long-time but lightweight Drupal user and administrator (not a developer!). I am exploring the release of Drupal Commons 3 that is available on d.o. and have some questions... I've run into some roadblocks (for example, cannot get WYSIWYG editor working, which I have no problem with in a straight D7 install) and need to make a decision very soon whether to proceed with DC3 for a website that needs to be rolled out on Dec. 10, or whether to just go with OG and keep it simple for now.

Where is the best place to discuss and ask questions about Drupal Commons 3? I don't want to clog up the issue queue with lots of newbie questions and cannot find any real documentation (please point me to a URL if it does exist) --

-- is there an IRC channel devoted to support for DC3?
-- would the docs for DC2 be worth studying, would they help me get going with DC3?
-- does anyone find commons.acquia.com to be a useful site? (there seems to be only a handful of discussions posted per month there)
-- is there an email discussion list devoted to DC3?

thanks

kazar

You can check out #drupal-commons on IRC if you have any questions. Just know that Commons 3 is currently under development, and is not considered stable or ready for production use.

I did find that channel this morning, thanks jpontani. I do think that in spite of the hoped-for October Beta, I will hold off and stick with a simpler OG setup for now. That said, I will keep a test server updated with DC3 so as to follow progress, help with filing bugs, and hopefully will find time to help with end-user docs (no eye is as good as a real end-user's eye to identify what's confusing and what instructions are needed!)

Meanwhile, will follow this group. Hey y'all.
