Non resizing fixed, custom width?

Hi,

I wanted to design a theme with small spaces between header, content and sidebar. Somehow it was not possible with the Zen Theme, so I switched to Omega. Exploring the theme for 2 days, I can say that my choice was right, so far.

The only thing that bothers me at the moment is the adaptive feature on Omega (that means not that it is a bad feature :)).
I would like to design a theme with a fixed width of about 980 px. So it should stay in this size, even if the user has 1200, 1920 or bigger resolution. Is this a media queries setting? Or does it require hardcore php skills?^^
I cant even find an option where I can set it to a fixed width. And how I can customize the content and sidebar width? Lets say the sidebar 300 px and the content area to 660 px. Thank you in advance.

@media query settings

Hi ,

You need to change the settings in admin/appearance/settings/yourtheme.

In the Layout configuration -> grid settings -> Normal layout.... here can you need to change the media query to your layout width...

like this: all and (min-width: 980px) and (min-device-width: 980px), all and (max-device-width: 1024px) and (min-width: 1024px) and (orientation:landscape)

I hope this is what you are looking for.

In order to have a fixed width layout for all screen resolutions disable responsive settings in appearance/settings/your_theme

Adjust the width of sidebar and content area via css.

Hi there, thank you both!
Yes it was the responsive settings checkbox :(
Usually I am patient and check all configurations...its awkward for me that the heart of the Omega theme - responsive setting and all of its options - was somehow overlooked by me. But what I learned about CSS and Drupal/Omega in the last days is amazing. I hope I can contribute my knowledge to the community, too!

With best regards from Germany,
PP

P.S: Sorry for the late response.
