Drupal Regional Day , Mumbai

Hi Guys,

During our last meetup, on 29th Sep, we all discussed on issues with the most of the regional Drupal communities. Most of the regional groups are not active.Events and meetups happen when there is some special visits (like Dries visit) or on special dates like Drupal training day.There is a discussion going on in Drupal groups India (http://groups.drupal.org/node/255703), on structuring a national Drupal body, i.e. "Drupal Association India", with a notion of conduction Drupalcon India in 2013/14..To make this happen, the first thing that should happen is strengthening the regional Drupal bodies.Which again poses the question, how? Well we tried to answer this question in our last meetup and thanks to Dipen , for the informations and ideas he shared. He is currently leading the community effort in Pune, which is doing pretty good on community engagement.To highlight what we discussed , i am listing few points below

1)We should conduct a meetup event every fortnight
2)Initial effort to engage all Drupal developers in Mumbai Drupal community.
3)More code sprints
4)More training programs, reaching out to student community in colleges
5)Drupal mumbai news letter
6)Open platform, to discuss issues, ideas and suggestions.

Our next meetup , on 14th Oct will be focussed on discussion over above points, apart from that we will have

Agenda:
1)Whats coming in Drupal 8.
2)Drupal ladder, core mentoring etc.
3)Kickstarting life of a contributor ( that is very meta :P )
4)Drupal core initiatives ( if anyone wishes to go in depth )
5)Anything Drupal :)
