User group meeting
First wednesday of the month....
Now, at the elephant last month there was talk of going somewhere where the pints don't cost upwards of four quid. I think it might be time to look at a different venue.
It's pretty cheap in the mothers ruin (£2 a pint before 7 for cider and beer i think) but potentially will get noisy with live music quite early, but maybe not. And Seamus O donells is also on the same street (I really like it, but potentially a bit of a squeeze).
What does everyone think? Is it time to make the move to another venue? Options?
As discussed last month, Please bring any ideas for things you might like to do a short talk about in the next month or so as we now have a venue for the knowledge shares!

The mothers ruin has club
The mothers ruin has club night "OCD" every wednesday, so noise levels are acceptable to talking groups until 9-10pm easily (no sound checking etc. to go on).
Also, the owner (and DJ of OCD) Marc is the very same as that of the Stag and Hounds, so could be beneficial from a pub-function-room networking point of view.
£2 a pint is considerably more appealing than the £3.85 that the Elephant has now moved on to, though obviously the ambience will be different. Mothers Ruin also doesn't do food, though you can take your own nosh in to have with a pint (thro early evening) so long as it doesn't stink.
I don't have many discussion points on Drupal myself at the moment I'm afraid, but if I can make it, I promise I can fill any long silences with other inane techno-babble :D

Actually, I meant to mention also that The Mothers Ruin were part of the launch of a new bar system called iDon'tQ - which looks interesting

You use an app on your phone to buy+pay for drinks, then there is a designated part of the bar that is kept clear, and you then just wander up (show a PIN number) and your drinks are waiting for you.
I'd love to see it in action (but I have a blackberry, so will never be able to use it myself)
